Fitness on Friday #11

This week I'm going to share a tip I learned:

I was reading a magazine this week and it mentioned a use for peppermint that's new to me. It can actually help you not feel hungry. And you don't even have to eat it. If you like peppermint just suck a mint or chew some sugar free gum. But if you don't like it use some peppermint lotion or light a peppermint candle and viola...you won't feel as hungry. Interesting concept...I need to put this one to the test.

I had read that a couple years back and tried it. I had peppermints sitting all over - work, home, car... The only thing I noticed was that I was drinking more water. By filling up on the water, it probably did cut down on the amount of food I was eating but it didn't make me "not hungry". Another thing that I read that works is apples...whether you eat them or have the scent around.

What a great tip!! I know that when I'm chewing gum, I don't eat as much. Same goes for when I brush my teeth. I'll have to make sure to pick up some peppermint gum at the store tonight! Thanks Natalie! :)

Hmmmm...I had never heard that about peppermint. I have been told that when you crave something, such as the evil candy bar...if you smell the wrapper, it will kill the craving. I've done it, and it does work, as long as I don't give in and eat the dang bar anyhow. LOL!
have a great week!
