A Big Fat ZERO!!! HFH post

Ok, so my weight loss/gain for this week's Hot for the Holidays is a big fat ZERO!!! It's better than a gain, but always disappointing.

I was sick for a lot of the week so I didn't exercise every day. That could explain a lot.

This week was also full of changes that could help me get healthier. One was I started working out with a trainer. We did legs yesterday and Oh. My. Gosh. I can't walk! I hurt! LOL! It's a good hurt though, it's one that means I'm getting stronger and I can live with that. Also, I was diagnosed with a low thyroid. So starting today I'm on medication for it. For some people that helps them lose weight. Hopefully I'm one of them. I've been so discouraged with how hard I'm working to lose so little. So what I'm hoping is that this medicine will help my body work like it used to. Where if I put forth the effort I reaped the rewards. You know?

So that's this week. No exciting loss, but possible exciting changes.

A zero is mucho better than a gain - especially if you were sick! Don't worry and now that you are better, you will get back to losing!

And the thyroid thing, maybe that will help too. I was dissapointed to learn that my thyroid is normal ... BUMMER!!! And how sad is THAT, that I am thinking that way!?

hey -- a big zero means no gain! it means maintenance! plus, you're making great changes and that definitely is a good thing! it was a whole different story for me when i finally bucked up and got a trainer, the fat literally melted away. he really knew what he was talking about! good luck to you!! hope you feel better! i know how that is!

Sounds like you are on the right track - getting a trainer. That has to help! Good luck ... and good job on no gain!

Don't be too hard on yourself about the zero. Once again, better than a gain! About the thyroid disorder, I was diagnosed hypothyroid about 12 years ago. Before the diagnosis I had put on some weight. That's definately a symptom. I'm sure once your thyroid gets straightened out you'll start to see the numbers on the scale movin' on down! That's awesome that you have the energy to work out, when mine is out of whack I am SO tired it's unreal. Take care and good luck!
